A Tribute to the Flavors of Portugal
Chef Emeril Lagasse's newest restaurant, which is called 34 Restaurant & Bar and is a Portuguese restaurant inspired by his late mother Hilda, is opening in New Orleans this month.

Lagasse grew up in Fall River, Massachusetts, which has the largest concentration of Portuguese people in the United States. Honoring his family, heritage, and hometown, 34 Restaurant & Bar will not only pay homage to all these important aspects of his identity but also will showcase his culinary achievements and seasoned skills as a longtime chef.
34 Restaurant & Bar will open in downtown New Orleans on Baronne Street, with the restaurant being a partnership project between Emeril Lagasse III and his son Emeril Lagasse IV. The name "34" is meant to signal this partnership. Promising a menu of vibrant Portuguese food, Lagasse has taken many visits to the streets of Lisbon and has put in a lot of care in curating the menu.
