'Tis the Season of Giving Back to the Community
On Friday, December 15, the Trombone Shorty Foundation and Gia Maione Prima Foundation, along with Warren Easton Charter High School, will host their annual "Tunes for Toys" toy drive and concert.
The toy drive and concert will be an outdoor event at Warren Easton High School's Legacy Field. The gates will open at 6 p.m. and there will be free admission to this event with the donation of a new toy.
Tonya Boyd-Cannon will be hosting the event with live performances by The Rumble ft. Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr., Raj Smoove, the Warren Easton Concert Band, Shorty Academy students, and the Le Bon Ton Babydolls dance troupe. Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews will also perform as the special guest. There will also be refreshments and bites from food trucks and vendors.
The collected toys will be given out on Saturday, December 16 during "Toys from Troy," also at Warren Easton High School. At this event, there will be refreshments and photos with Santa from 1-3:30 p.m. Admission to this event is free and any child in attendance will get a free toy.
