The Beginning of Carnival Season

Societé Des Champs Elyseé will be celebrating Twelfth Night, and the beginning of the Carnival season, while riding a streetcar on January 6 at 7:30 p.m.

This streetcar ride will start on North Rampart Street and Explanade Avenue, then will continue down North Rampart Street. The procession will continue down the streetcar path, eventually reaching the end at Elysian Fields Avenue.

The krewe's 2024 Kings Day Celebration will kick off with the distribution of gift packs for those who found no room at the inn. This is in hopes of bringing holiday cheer and warmth to the those residing under the Crescent City Connection bridge.

The coronation of this year's Societé Des Champs Elyseé monarchs will be held at Holy Diver, located at 1200 St. Bernard Ave., at 5 p.m. At the event, live music will be played by Gina Forsyth & Mid City Aces, Catie Rogers & Her Elysian Brass, as well as The Margie Perez Orchestra. There will also be special guest appearances by Big Chief Kevin Goodman & the Flaming Arrows and Al "Carnival Time" Johnson.

The krewe's monarchs for the 2024 carnival season are Dr. John and Smokey Mary, as well as Michael Davis and Tara Gray.
