NOLA Cultural Economy Workshop
The New Orleans Mayor's Office of Cultural Economy is offering a free professional development event, the 2025 Cultural Economy Workshop, designed to equip members of the arts and culture community with the knowledge and resources needed to successfully navigate opportunities with the city.
This year's workshop will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gallier Hall. Registration will close once capacity is reached, so early registration is encouraged and can be accessed here.
About the Workshop
The first Cultural Economy Workshop, held in January 2020, focused on connecting over 100 community members with city resources. Series workshops underscores the city of New Orleans' commitment to fostering economic opportunities for cultural practitioners. The session concluded with a networking happy hour, where attendees connected with industry professionals, shared ideas, and built new collaborations.

This program focuses on equipping local creatives with useful resources to build, grow, and sustain their careers and thrive across cultural sectors. Attendees will have access to in-person sessions providing valuable insights, BRASS registration support, and will be able to learn from key city programs.
Programs include: Cultural Economy Funding Program, Homeownership Program for culture bearers, New Energy program and the Equitable Business Opportunities program. Additionally, a Brunch & Learn session will provide attendees with guidance on how to do business with the city over a meal, while helping participants successfully register as contractors/vendors/suppliers in the BRASS system and navigate the procurement process.
