Mystery, Masons, and Mayhem
The Historic New Orleans Collection is hosting a historical scavenger
hunt throughout the French Quarter on Saturday, April 20. Mystery, Masons, and Mayhem:
A French Quarter Adventure will be a day of clues, puzzles, history and more.
The adventure will kick off at the Historic New Orleans
Collection at 520 Royal St. at 11 a.m. The race will then begin promptly at
11:30 a.m. The teams must race to rescue the stolen Louisiana Purchase without
which the state will be returned to France.
Each team will look for clues, solve puzzles, and stop for
drinks in the French Quarter. The race will run for about 2.5 hours and
participants will walk around 3.5 miles. The teams will explore the French
Quarter and visit some of its best museums. The race is being presented in conjunction
with two incredible exhibits currently on display at the collection: Mystery
and Benevolence: Masonic and Odd Fellows Folk Art and A Mystic
Brotherhood: Fraternal Orders of New Orleans.
Registration is required to participate. Gather up to five
of the cleverest history lovers you know and assemble a team to enroll for $20.
Those looking to play but lacking a team may pay $5 to join and be added to a
group. THNOC member registration opened on March 18 and non-member registration begins March 25 at 9:30 a.m. Each participant must be 21 or older.
