The Mortuary is an icon of old New Orleans located at the end of the world famous Canal Street. Less than 3 miles from the enchanting French Quarter on the cemetery streetcar line, this mansion was built in 1872 and operated for about 80 years as an actual mortuary. This venue now operates year round in three fashions: a themed special event venue known as the Mystere Mansion, an attraction that houses live escape games known as Mystere Escape Rooms, and during the Halloween Season, the infamous and highly anticipated Mortuary Haunted Mansion.

The haunted house first opened in 2007, and has been featured on the top ghost hunting shows such as Syfi Channel's Ghost Hunters and Discovery Channel's Ghost Lab, and was even named one of America's Scariest Attractions by the Travel Channel. Add to this already scary environment state of the art animatronics, theatrical sets, over-the-top special effects and unusual themes adds up to experiencing one of the most terrifying Halloween haunts ever. It has been heralded as one of the most realistic, Hollywood style destination haunted attractions in the world and continues to draw tens of thousands of thrill seekers year after year.

The Mortuary Haunted House is now open for the Halloween season, and is open every weekend leading up to Halloween. The Mortuary will be opened from Tuesday-Thursday during the week of Halloween. Box office and doors open at dusk and runs indefinitely. Everyone in line will be able to purchase a ticket and enter.

General admission into the haunted house is $30, and VIP fast passes which include automatic entry and no wait time are $50. Tickets can be purchased at the box office on site or online at themortuary.net/tickets. There are discounts for groups of 20+ but only when purchased online. Bring your friends and enjoy the thrill! Happy Halloween!
