Wine Enthusiast Magazine has recognized Alexandra Minton, lead sommelier at Jack Rose in the Garden District as one of their "40 under 40." This list recognizes the young winemakers, brewers, grape growers, and the like for shaping the beverage industry and continually pushing it forward.
Minton is seen as an innovator for her curatorial expertise with Jack Rose's wine selection, where she favors a strong emphasis on blending the familiar with the unknown, as a means of simultaneously challenging and comforting their guests.
According to Minton, "With the focus being on small-production, natural wineries, pricing is very approachable, especially when it comes to wines that are often unfamiliar to many. Good wine does not have to be expensive. Nor does great wine, so when you come to Jack Rose the hope is that when you decide to try something new cost is not an influencer in that decision."
The inventory of wine at Jack Rose is a finely curated selection, but is constantly evolving to remain seasonal and interesting, thus giving their guests options they may have not otherwise considered.
