This summer is an exciting time for New Orleans movie buffs as a number of high-profile productions are filming in the Crescent City.
Bill and Ted Face the Music just started shooting in town with franchise leads Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter playing the clueless time travelers/aspiring rock stars 28 years after Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey.
Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence is here filming an untitled project about a soldier this summer. The plot is otherwise unknown.
Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon is a fantasy-adventure about a girl with strange powers who escapes from a mental institution and travels to New Orleans. Kate Hudson and Craig Robinson star in a film, directed by indie horror darling Ana Lily Amirpour (A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night).
Oscar-winner Russell Crowe is starring in the road-rage thriller Unhinged, which will start filming in the Crescent City in July. Crowe will play a deranged man who stalks a mother who honks her horn at him in traffic.
On top of these feature productions, NOLA TV stalwarts The Purge and Queen Sugar will also be filming here throughout the summer.
