The world premiere of Horror Anthology Movie Volume One will take place Sunday, November 10th, 7 pm. at the Chalmette Movie Theaters (8700 W Judge Perez Dr, Chalmette, LA 70043). Horror Anthology Movie is a collection of blood curdling tales in the tradition of films like Asylum, Creepshow, Trilogy of Terror and V/H/S. It's made by local filmmakers Mike T. Lyddon, King Jeff, Karl DeMolay and Will Frank. You may recall that Lyddon, DeMolay and Frank are the guys responsible for the 1999 cult item Zombie! vs Mardi Gras.
Horror Anthology is the brainchild of Lyddon, and he directs three of the six segments in this movie. First up is a photographer plotting to kill his domineering wife with a fungus in The Cordyceps Principle. Then in Thing in the Shed, a mysterious black box spells terror. Last of Lyddon's is Footage Found, Arabi which unearths a 1932 visit to New Orleans by writer H.P. Lovecraft.
Section 49 is DeMolay's black and white fever dream featuring a man who is a slave to technology. Frank's segment, Blood of a Saint, is all done with puppets and is about a penile implant gone wrong. And Jeff adds a haunting WWII story to the mix with Five Miles Straight Ahead.
