These performers will undoubtedly bring the audience to their feet with their incredible vocals and inspiring messages.
The Johnny Jackson Jr. Gospel Is Alive! Celebration is named in honor of Johnny Jackson Jr., a longtime member of the board of directors of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation, as well as a former New Orleans City Council member and former Louisiana State Representative. The event has been a part of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation's outreach programs since 2006, and past headliners have included Rance Allen, CeCe Winans, The Clark Sisters, Shirley Caesar, and more.
In addition to the incredible performances, the 2023 Gospel Is Alive! Celebration will honor the Watson Memorial Teaching Ministries Mass Choir, Shades of Praise Gospel Choir, and Dr. Jermaine G. Landrum. These honorees have made significant contributions to the New Orleans gospel music community and continue to inspire the next generation of performers.
