Five Places to Grab a Holiday Cocktail in New Orleans

Holiday-themed drinks have been out for some time now, but as the weather gets colder, we're reaching for warmer drinks. Eggnogs, spiced rums, and even warm gingerbread are always better with a touch of alcohol to keep you cozy. Bars all over the city are taking the opportunity to host pop-up Christmas bars and even feature drinks that only come out this time of year. Increase your holiday merrymaking by having a little extra to drink!

Beachbum Berry's Latitude 29

For the sixth year in a row, Sippin' Santa will be taking place at Beachbum Berry's Latitude 29. As of November 27, the tiki-pop up will toast the season through January 1. Celebrating with over-the-top classic holiday and Polynesian decoration, they will be featuring drinks such as the North Pole Punch, Runaway Sleigh, and Rum Rum Rudolph. Barrel Proof

The other iteration of Miracle, another pop-up Christmas bar, will be hosted at Barrel Proof. The event debuted on November 23 and will be running until New Year's Eve. Barrel Proof will be featuring special drinks, including a Jingle Balls Nog and Fruitcake Flip, which has brandy, Jamaican run, and amaretto. This year, Miracle is donating 10 percent of all proceeds form the sale of their signature glassware to the James Beard Foundation Open for Good, which assists relief efforts for independent restaurants. 1201 Magazine St., barrelproofnola.com

Betty's Bar and Bistro

A French Quarter favorite, Betty's Bar and Bistro is pulling out all the stops for their holiday drinks. The bistro features a full menu of delectable snacks and drinks that will pair incredibly with their seasonal frozen eggnog daiquiri! Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop

Located in the oldest building used as a bar in the country, Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar is home to all the flavors of the city. In addition to their famous purple Voodoo Daiquiri that people flock there to order, they've also added an egg-cellent eggnog daiquiri to their drink menu for the holidays. The only real thing to do is to get one of each. Bakery Bar NOLA

Bakery Bar is a great spot that includes fantastic pastries and craft cocktails. This year, they have several holiday cocktails that are sure to bring some old-fashioned cheer to your day.
