Five Entertaining Events for the End of Summer

First, a spectacular performance will be taking place at the Cutting Edge Theater in Slidell: the Broadway musical Cabaret. This popular show, set in 1930s Berlin, has a star-studded cast. Theater lovers will also want to head to the Teatro Wego Theater in Westwego and enjoy the triple Tony Award winning play God of Carnage. This comedy without manners will run starting October 1. Tickets can be purchased at JPAS's website. 177 Sala Ave., Westwego, jpas.org

Next, starting October 3, just down the road in Biloxi, America's largest block party returns with Cruisin' the Coast. The event includes a car show and special concert by the legendary Beach Boys at The Beau Rivage on October 7 and 8. Multiple Locations, Biloxi, cruisinthecoast.com

Looking to get out of town for a weekend? Beer lovers take note: The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin presents the 13th Annual Beer Fest on October 8 and 9. Specialty beers will be available for participants to sample while enjoying live music. baytownebeerfestival.com

Next, head to Covington for the Bluesberry Music + Art Festival on Saturday, October 9. Taking place at Bogue Falaya Wayside Park, the family-friendly fest will feature blues music, art, and great food in their Food Truck Alley.
