Final Goodbyes to New Orleans Musician, Dr. John

Much to the dismay of New Orleans Natives and music aficionados, legendary New Orleans blues, jazz, and rock and roll Musician Dr. John passed away on June 6th. The cause of his death was a heart attack. The beloved musician died at 77.

For those who wish to pay respects to the iconic New Orleans Musician, a public visitation will be held at the Orpheum Theater on Saturday June 22nd from 7-10:30 a.m. While a private (invitation only) will occur from 1-3 p.m, fans of Dr. John can still hear the memorial on WWOZ 90.7 FM.

Immediately following the memorial, a second line-open to the public-celebrating the life and achievements of Dr. John will begin outside the Orpheum.

A vibrant man and talented musician, Dr. John captured the essence of New Orleans. His music and presence will be sorely missed.
