This
year, you can escape the seclusion of the COVID-19 pandemic and join the New
Orleans Citizen Diplomacy Council's World Explorer Club to
feast on cuisines from around the world in the comfort of your own home. This
club was birthed to create a platform for New Orleans based immigrant chefs to showcase their
remarkable culinary work while helping them raise much needed funds during the pandemic. On Friday, February 26, the World Explorer Club will be traveling to the Czech Republic with Chef Yarda
Ramesha.
From 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Zoom event will feature a three course Czech menu prepared by Chef Ramesha, a renowned New Orleans restaurateur who owned the former Jaeger Haus German Restaurant and now currently owns the Cuñada and Agave Bar. This event will also feature the Honorary Consul to the Czech Republic Martin Pospisil and his wife Taylor Pospisil, as well as music provided by the Fritzel's European Jazz Pub. By purchasing a ticket, you'll be able to take your palette on a trip to Prague and hear Chef Yarda define what Czech cuisine is, his journey to New Orleans, and how the city has shaped him and his businesses.
There are two different menus available for purchase for the event: an omnivore meal (with options like roasted duck leg and apple strudel) or a vegetarian meal (with options like salty leek quiche and potato mushroom soup). Each meal purchased will support Chef Yarda and raise the necessary funds for the New Orleans Citizen Diplomacy Council. Meal pick-ups will be on February 26 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. The event's zoom link, as well as directions for the meal pick-up, will be sent upon confirmation of your payment. Registration will close on Monday, February 22. The cost of this event is $45 for New Orleans Citizen Diplomacy Council members and $55 for non-members.
