Participate in some true cultural appreciation this Cinco de Mayo by supporting local Latinx businesses, enjoying delicious cuisine, and celebrating with the local NOLA community at some of these great events and spaces.

Here are 10 ways to celebrate Cinco de Mayo this year.


1. Cinco de Mayo Fest in Metairie

The annual Cinco de Mayo event at Fat City Park in Metairie, hosted by Los Jefes Grill, will be a taco-indulging afternoon. The event will kick off at 4 p.m. and run until 10 p.m.

There will be performances by Mannie Fresh, the Mexican OT, Partners-n-Crime, and more. This two day fest will start on Saturday and lead into Sunday for actual the Cinco de Mayo day. Tickets start at $35 for single day passes.


2. Felipe's Cinco de Mayo

Felipe's Taqueria is a local classic for fresh Mexican food all year round and Cinco de Mayo is surely no exception. Each year on Cinco de Mayo, Felipe's has served fresh margaritas and hot food while diners enjoy music and the celebratory atmosphere of the restaurant.

Each of the three NOLA locations will have live music in the evening including La Tran-K Band, Will Dickerson, and Emily Nelson. Make sure to visit Felipe's website for a full lineup.

Tacos Del Cartel, a staple Mexican restaurant in Metairie, is gearing up to host crowds of taco lovers this Cinco de Mayo. Come order their unique and creative array of tacos and sip on a refreshing margarita while enjoying this restaurant's festive ambience.

Tacos del Cartel is a great way to celebrate the versatility of Mexican cuisine. They will also be serving some exciting specials and offering fun games for those looking to spice up their day.

This year is the 10th annual Margarita Mayhem, bringing a diverse array of what makes Cinco de Mayo so well loved to one location. The festivities will take place at Culture Park NOLA, where crowds will congregate to dance, drink, and eat tacos.

Doors will open at 3 p.m. Tickets start at just $20 for advanced tickets to enjoy this day of celebration.


7. Indulge Pool Party

Indulge Poll Party is perfect for those looking for a full on Cinco de Mayo daytime bash. The party is 21+ and will kick off at 3 p.m.

Partygoers should come ready with swim suits so that they can sip margaritas and keep cool in the pool. There will be two for one margaritas all day, tacos, and hookah for all to enjoy.


8. Juan's Flying Burrito
