The Krewe of Muses announced today that it will distinguish actress and comedienne, Jennifer Coolidge, as this year's Honorary Muse. The Honorary Muse recognition project acknowledges talented women who have established themselves as remarkable role models for females across New Orleans.
Throughout her extraordinary career, Coolidge has developed notorious characters such as "Fiona" in A Cinderella Story, Reese Witherspoon's antithesis "Paulette" in the Legally Blonde franchise and "Stifler's mom" in the American Pie series. Additionally, she has collaborated alongside esteemed directors, including Miguel Arteta, Marleen Gorris, Jared Hess, Werner Herzog, and frequent associate Christopher Guest. Coolidge and Guest have obtained various ensemble acting awards for their contributions in Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration.
Coolidge presently stars in Like a Boss, a hilarious film featuring Tiffany Haddish, Rose Byrne and Salma Hayek in other principal roles. This April, she will take the screen once again in the upcoming drama thriller, Promising Young Women. Until then, be sure to catch Coolidge leading the Krewe of Muses! She will guide the way in the procession's iconic shoe float, a 17-foot tall red pump tall fiber optic encrusted red pump.
The Krewe celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, coincidentally falling on 2-20-2020! The parade will roll at 6:30 p.m., following its traditional extended route, kicking off at the corner of Magazine St. and Jefferson Ave. and proceeding down Magazine to Napoleon Ave. to St. Charles Avenue.
