Abita Brewing Company Announces New Rum Cocktail in a Can

By: Cayce Russo

January has certainly been an eventful start to the new year, and Abita Brewing Company is joining in on the fun with their new Libre Rum & Cola! According to the Abita Brew Krewe, "Libre Rum & Cola is an all-natural distilled spirits cocktail made with imported, three-year oak-barrel-aged rum and cola crafted with raw cane sugar and a twist of natural lime juice. Each 12-ounce can has an 8% ABV, which is equivalent to over a shot and a half of premium, Central American Rum."

It sounds like Libre Rum & Cola makes cocktail hour easy, convenient, and affordable. It can be served many ways; however, many may prefer it in its most simplistic form — served over ice with a splash of lime. The convenience of this carefully crafted cocktail does not end there. Libre Rum & Cola can be found at most retailers, restaurants, and grocery stores throughout Louisiana, thanks to the hard work of the Abita Brewing Company's distribution network. Abita Brewing Company, Louisiana's original craft brewery, was founded in 1986 and is known for its commitment to delivering great products to the people of Louisiana. This commitment continues on with the release and distribution of Libre Rum & Cola.

David Blossman, President and CEO of Abita Brewing Company, has many good things to say about the new launch of Libre Rum & Cola, stating, "Consumers are looking for convenience without having to sacrifice quality. We started development with the goal of crafting the best-tasting rum and cola by utilizing the highest-quality, all-natural ingredients. Our Rum & Cola gives you the craftsmanship of a premium classic cocktail to enjoy at any time or occasion, in the convenience of a can."
