2019 R+L Carriers’ New Orleans Bowl Next Saturday

Schools representing Conference-USA and the Sun Belt Conference are invited to participate in this sports event each year. 2019 R+L Carriers' New Orleans Bowl will take place on Saturday, December 21 at 9 p.m. The event will be televised by ESPN, but will also be available on ESPN Radio. On the eve of kick-off, the B-52's will perform in Champions Square. Gates open at 8 pm.

Applachian State has a conference record of 7-1 this season, while the UAB Blazers have a record of 6-2, which will make for an interesting lineup. Viewers will be sure to enjoy a lively competition.

The event will be broadcast live with commentary by Super Bowl Champion and Louisiana native Ryan Clark. Clark has an interesting history, having played for LSU's football team before going on to the NFL and being a part of the Superbowl Championship Pittsburgh Steelers. Tickets are available starting at $40 via ticketmaster. The event will bring a clash of titans from the Sun Belt Conference and Conference-USA.

This year the event returns to New Orleans and should be an event you do not want to miss. Last year Appalachian State took down Middle Tennessee State 45-13. Appalachian State quarterback Zac Thomas passed for 177 yards and was MVP of the game. Running back Darrynton Evans rushed for 108 yards in that game as well.R+L Carriers has sponsored the New Orleans Bowl since 2006, held each year at the iconic Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
