W New Orleans - French Quarter Dives Into Summer Activities and Deals

By: Cody Downey

Beginning this Memorial Day weekend, the W New Orleans - French Quarter hotel will be opening up their gorgeous courtyard pool for weekend events for Louisiana residents. Locals can purchase WET Deck Day Passes to come on any Friday, Saturday, or Sunday of their choosing and enjoy the activities, such as “Sunday Vibrations” hosted by DJ Jammin’ Jorge. With these $20 passes, holders get two signature cocktails off the poolside menu. Along with the WET Deck Day Passes, the W French Quarter will hold other weekly and monthly events throughout the summer.

On Thursdays, the hotel hosts a variety of different fitness classes. These range from the bounce-inspired Backyard Bounce taught by Jenny Leigh, to classic yoga taught by Bella Blue. The classes cost $5 each and allow participants to use the pool afterward.

On Fridays, restaurant SoBou hosts Barpreneurs Power Lunches where aspiring entrepreneurs have the chance to meet and interact with seasoned entrepreneurs and professionals to get advice for free. SoBou is located next to the W French Quarter.

Every Sunday, Bella Blue performs at the Legs and Eggs Burlesque Brunch at SoBou from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Along with this event, the hotel will host a movie night one Sunday a month, from June thru August, called Summer Crush Dive-In Movies. The pool will showcase these movies as the sun sets and offer the poolside food and drink menu along with complimentary popcorn.

Also, SoBou offers a “Happier Hour” seven days a week from 3 until 6 p.m., with prices to match those hours—certain drinks and food will run you only $3 to $6.

W French Quarter is also providing special packages for the summer. With the Summer Splash Experiential Package, buyers get two Sunset in the Courtyard cocktails, two SoBou sunglasses, a coupon book for The Outlet Collection at Riverwalk with over $500 in savings, and free parking. With the Lucky Locals Package, Louisiana residents can get rooms for $129 per night on weekdays and $159 a night on weekends, along with parking and complimentary WiFi.

All these events and packages will run thru Labor Day weekend.
