Visit Baton Rouge, which is the official tourism organizations for the capital of Louisiana, launched a new free program, called Friends Trip Pass, to encourage locals and tourists to get out and explore Baton Rouge.

To accomplish this, Visit Baton Rouge is working with local establishments, such as restaurants, retailers, curated attractions, and more, in the Baton Rouge area to have themselves featured on the pass, while also offer special incentives for people who sign up for the pass.

"For a while, we've been searching for ways to attract more visitors and even get our locals out to explore the city," President and CEO of Visit Baton Rouge Paul Arrigo said. "We hope this first pass serves as a start of something new and exciting in Baton Rouge, especially since the pandemic has taken a toll on our hospitality sector. We would love everyone sign up for the pass because when you get out and support local businesses, that also benefits our city as a whole. At the end of the day, we're all in this together."

To get the pass, go to Visit Baton Rouge's website and sign up for it by entering your name, email address, and cell phone number. A link is then sent to your mobile phone, which then opens the pass and gives you the ability to add a button icon to your home screen, which allows you to access the pass anytime you want.

Once you have the pass loaded on your phone, you simply hand your phone over, with the pass open, to the checkout counter of any of the businesses listed in the pass to receive the special incentives.

Visit Baton Rouge plans on releasing more passes in the future to help encourage more tourism into Louisiana's capital city.
