Missing Spring Festivals? There’s One Online This Saturday

By: Alena Cover

Catch live performances from your favorite local artists this Saturday at the Band Together Online Music Festival.

The festival aims to showcase New Orleans stars alongside emerging talent, while giving back to the New Orleans music community by raising money to support musicians during the pandemic.

The lineup will feature PJ Norton, Tank and the Bangas, John Cleary, Ivan Neville, Kermit Ruffins, Nigel Hall, Cupid, Water Seed, and many others.

Proceeds from the festival will benefit New Orleans musicians who are struggling to make a living now that gigs and events are postponed or canceled. April is often the busiest month for musicians, with Jazz Fest and the related tourism, which amplifies the loss.

The benefit aims to reach one million viewers worldwide and hopes to be able to supply each applicant with a grant of at least $500 to put towards rent and other essentials.

The show will begin at 3 p.m. central time on April 25. For more information or to donate, visit: Band Together Benefit.
