Following a viral video of a Texas teen licking an open carton of Blue Bell ice cream and putting it back in a Walmart freezer, a suspected copycat has done the same in Louisiana. 36-year-old Lenise Martin III has been charged with property tampering and posting criminal activity, despite actually buying the ice cream off-screen. Martin was able to show the sales clerk and authorities the receipt for the ice cream he tampered with, leading to a freezer search that confirmed the ice cream had been purchased. Yet, deputies still decided to move forward with the charges against Martin. After the initial Blue Bell licking video was posted on Twitter, outrage was sparked across the internet. Despite rampant calls for criminal prosecution from Internet users, multiple copycat cases have been reported, including Martin's.
