Nonprofit Son of a Saint is calling for nominations for their second annual Props for Pops campaign, which recognizes a local "Pop" who exemplifies what it means to be a father, father figure, or mentor. Bivian "Sonny" Lee III founded Son of a Saint in 2011 in honor of his late father, former Saints player Bivian Lee Jr., who tragically died when Sonny was three years old. Son of a Saint is an outreach program that provides mentorship, emotional support, career guidance, and more to fatherless boys in the New Orleans area, serving young men from the age of ten through college.
Son of a Saint will be announcing "Pop of the Year" on June 15th at the NOLA Brewing Company, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m, and it is open for the public to attend. To mark the occasion, NOLA Brewing Company has crafted an exclusive, limited edition brew for the event: Hops for Pops, a West Coast style Grapefruit IPA with proceeds to benefit Son of a Saint.
Nominations for Props for Pops will remain open until June 9th. Anyone who wishes to nominate a deserving fatherly figure may visit: propsforpops2019.splashthat.com.
