Go to the New Orleans Botanical Garden

Earth Day at the New Orleans Botanical Garden promises to be an extraordinary event. The focus will be on celebrating the earth and learning how to build a healthier relationship with natural spaces. The event will have exhibitors, activities for children, live music, crafts, cooking demonstrations, and, of course, amazing food. The event will take place in the New Orleans Botanical Garden on 5 Victory Ave. on Wednesday, April 21 and will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. For more info, please visit neworleanscitypark.com/events/earth-day.

Take on the Earth Day Challenge Run/Walk

This year, bring in Earth Day with the 3rd Annual Earth Day Virtual Challenge, which is determined to abolish last year's total of 51,023.592 miles. The virtual challenge is free, although you can pay a price for a t-shirt, medal, and steel drinking straw. Make sure to log your miles, which will be tallied toward the challenge's overall goal. To join, please visit Eventbrite.

Help Cleanup City Park

If you want to start Earth Day early, then on April 17, you can help contribute to the efforts of having a cleaner Earth by participating in a cleanup event for City Park. This event is free and will happen rain or shine at 194 Zachary Taylor Dr. If you desire to receive volunteer or community service hours, they will be documented at the event upon request. So come out and be of great help to the community you live in by joining others in cleaning up City Park. For more information, please visit Eventbrite.

Visit Longue Vue House & Gardens

Here in New Orleans, you can also celebrate Earth Day by visiting one of the most beautiful outdoor garden spaces at Longue Vue House and Gardens on 7 Bamboo Rd. With each admission purchase on April 22, a free packet of wildflower seeds collected from Longue Vue's very own gardens will be included. For more information, please visit longuevue.com.

Get Curbside Cocktails at Espíritu

Celebrate Earth Day with curbside cocktails at Espíritu Mezcaleria & Cocina, which is located on 520 Capdeville St. The tasting will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will be followed by a live tutorial on how to create two cocktails, as well as a special signature spring cocktail. The tickets for this April 22 event will be $50 per person. All tickets must be purchased at least 24 hours in advance. For more info, visit Eventbrite.
