Jazz Fest isn't the only big music fest around these days. Festival International de Louisiane in Lafayette also includes lots of big acts, great tunes, and more than 300,000 attendees.
Wednesday, April 24: Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys opened up this year's Festival International. Wednesday night, more commonly and lovingly known as Local Night, really took off when Keith Frank and the Soileau Zydeco Band took the stage and closed out the first night of the festival in grand style.
Friday, April 26: Friday got started with Les Hotesses d'Hilaire of New Brunswick. Dobet Gnahoré of the Ivory Coast and Moonlight Benjamin of Haiti brought the mystique. And the night ended on a high note with New Orleans's Tank and the Bangas.
Saturday, April 27: Saturday saw The Flying Balalaika Brothers of Russia, The Hooten Hallers from Missouri, and Cha Wa.
Sunday, April 28: Robert Randolph and the Family band closed the festival Sunday evening with a raucous performance. Lane Mack joined Randolph for a rendition of the Jimi Hendrix classic "Voodoo Child," and Randolph invited festival-goers onstage to dance.
