HD Gathering

the gathering of the minds that are going to blow minds

October is always an exciting month in New Orleans. With the convergence of VoodooFest, Prospect 1, Fear Fest, World Cultural Economic Forum (and, of course Halloween), this year is going to be even more exciting with the addition of HD Gathering. From the 24th to the 26th of October, HD Gathering will take place in New Orleans.

Helmed by New York City impresario/producer Brandon Wilcox, HD Gathering is an avant-garde assemblage of cutting-edge visionaries from around the world geared to promote the global conversation in video. With the recent convergence of several Web 2.0 trends (i.e. social networking, increased bandwidth), HD Gathering will be the showcase.

“HD Gathering is the gathering of the minds that are going to blow minds,” Mr. Wilcox says of the planned symposium. “New Orleans is the perfect centerpiece and obvious choice for an event of this caliber rather than New York City or LA. Unlike those two cities, New Orleans has a spirit unlike any I’ve seen anywhere. Because variety is the spice of life, we will have a coming-together of fine artists, musicians, futurists, tech entrepreneurs, filmmakers, digital artists, game developers, and world leaders.”

The 3-day event will include visual effects and 3-D video display technology, 24 hour cocktail bars and a massive outdoor rave space to showcase international djs and electronica. There will be a host of audio and visual installations as well as public and private symposiums covering entertainment and digital distribution. In sum, it will focus on connecting capital with creativity.

The schedule of events will be posted on the HD Gathering website. Free to users, the site currently requires a private invitation. Even in the invite-only mode, www.hdgathering.com is positioned to become one of the most important portals on the Web and will be broadcasting worldwide.
